Bethesda game studio’s opened up E3 2015 with their very first press conference as a studio, and the home behind games such as Fallout 4, Doom and Dishonored have a lot to show off, so here is how the conference broke down!
Bethesda opened up the conference with the world’s first look at the new Doom, and boy did they ever deliver. Showing off around 15 minutes of story gameplay, a look at Doom multiplayer and announced SnapMap, which is their mod tool that will span all platforms and allow for extensive map and game mode creation and submission from fans, ensuring there’s a brand new experience every time you play. No official release date was given other than Spring 2016, but expect to see and hear a lot more of Doom in the coming months.
Next up on the agenda is a bit of information on Battlecry, an action strategy game that looks a lot like a much prettier Team Fortress style game. Not a whole lot was revealed, other than they are now accepting beta invites worldwide. Battlecry certainly looks like a lot of fun, and oozes style and fun, making it one to watch in the coming months.
Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
We were treated to a brief snapshot at some of the things coming to ESO, among them, teases of the Dark Brotherhood, which is a pretty infamous group in Elder Scrolls lore. Whether this is setting up a possible expansion is yet to be seen.
Elder Scrolls: Legends
Bethesda showed a quick CG trailer for a new card based strategy game set in the Elder Scrolls universe. Obviously trying to capitalize on the success of Blizzard’s Hearthstone, ESO Legends will probably follow a very similar approach. ESO Legends will be free to play, and more will be revealed in the coming months.
Another huge game revealed for the first time is Dishonored 2. Although it was accidentally leaked last night, fans on the conference floor were very excited to see a sequel is in the works, and we were treated to a quick trailer showing off a new female protagonist wielding some powerful new moves and spells. The game looks incredible so far, though it was a bit hard to tell what was gameplay and what was simply CG, either way, Dishonored 2 is going to be a massively popular game to keep an eye out for in the next year.
Dishonored : The Definitive Edition
A surprise was announced at the end of the Dishonored 2 trailer, the Definitive Edition will amass the first game and all DLC, along with upgraded graphics for those who maybe have missed out playing it the first time around. The official release date has been set for August of this year.
Obviously the biggest part of the show, and the entire reason that Bethesda decided to have this conference in the first place, Fallout 4 looks incredible. Bethesda really blew the doors wide open with this, as we were treated to a lengthy demo showing off the game world, character creation, and a host of brand new features to the Fallout series such as a massive weapon upgrade system, and even being able to create your own town from scratch any way you see fit. The amount of things announced and shown off for Fallout 4 was almost overwhelming, including a brand new companion app, a special collector’s edition with your very own Pip-Boy included, and the announcement of Fallout Shelter, a free to play IOS game that is available as we speak. Also announced, and maybe the biggest news of the whole show, Fallout 4 will be available November 10th of this year!
