Over the course of this week we’ve spoken a lot about the impact that corporate decisions can have on a company’s showing at E3 but nothing can have more impact than the games themselves. Every year fans hope beyond hope that their personal dream game will be announced at the show. And while we may not always (or often) get what we want that doesn’t stop us from dreaming. Here’s a collection of several games that the staff at 3GEM just can’t wait to get their hands on and will (hopefully) be at E3.
How can anyone not be hyped for X? A spiritual sequel to what is arguably (but probably) the greatest RPG of the last generation X looks to be about a million times bigger and better than Xenoblade, and that’s saying a lot. From the massive open plains to the incredible art direction and visuals this is the hardcore game the Wii U needs and is the game I can’t wait to see more of at E3.
NHL 15 and more
E3 is essentially Christmas for gamers, with so many new games announced and shown off for the first time, It gives us a great look into what the next year is going to look like for the big 3. This year I am especially excited, as it’s the first REAL E3 with all of the new consoles out and getting down to business. I am MOST excited to see NHL 15, but also can’t wait for more Batman: Arkham Knight, Destiny, Pokémon Alpha/Omega, The Division, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Far Cry 4, and more info on Xbox’s announcement of a PS+ type system, with better free games each month and cool incentives. The best part about E3 is often the surprises though, and I can’t wait to see what kinda of things Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have been keeping under wraps.
The Legend of Zelda Wii U
It’s Zelda in HD. That’s all that needs to be said.
Every since the game’s reveal at last year’s E3 I’ve been itching to get my hands on Sunset Overdrive. The promise of user-generated content being added into a persistently changing world could be the breath of fresh air the stagnating FPS genre needs.
Roger Sararas II
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U / 3DS
It’s no doubt we will see many new exciting games at this year’s E3, but my mind is still set for the release of Smash Bros. for both Wii U and 3DS. As more and more is shown approaching the date and I just can’t wait to get the final details of the game about the game. Right now, I am focused on seeing who makes the final cut and hopefully I get to brag about having predicted more than one newcomer. The final release date should be set in stone and I simply can’t wait to finally get my hands on the game I’ve been waiting for almost two years now!
