Here we are on the 12th day of Christmas. You have seen multiple lists of the best things to purchase this Christmas, as well as the best things to see over the holiday break. Sean Robinson– President/ Co-Owner- Jingle all the Way

“Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen.”

Eric Holmes– Vice President/ Co-Owner- Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

“Rudolph was the first Christmas movie I watched multiple times. I remember loving the elves, and HATING the abominable snowman! He was terrifying when I was younger!”

Taylor Robinson– Editor-in-Chief/ Business Manager – It’s a Wonderful Life

“‘Every time a bell rings, and angel gets its wings.’  This is the first Christmas movie that made me take a step back and realize what is truly important at this time of year”

its a wonderfull life

Greg Chisholm– Film/Television Content Manager- Die Hard

“Die Hard is my favorite Holiday movie because it isn’t conventional. It’s is one of the few Christmas movies that actually represents the level of chaos people go through over the holidays.”

Dan Reintjes– Gaming Content Manger- Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

“It’s been a tradition in my household to watch this at LEAST 5 times every holiday. For me, it’s a story growing up that I could really relate to, having trouble fitting in and being kind of an outsider, but trying your best to overcome it and be the best version of yourself you can be. Rudolph does this, and in the end the very thing that causes him to be an outcast, also helps him become the hero of the story, which is a really positive message to give to kids no matter how old the film is!”

Steve Ulrich– Public Relations/ Social Media Manager- Home Alone- Lost in New York

“It was my first glimpse at the big apple as a kid- so I always grew up associating NYC with Christmas and imagining being Kevin – running around maxing out dads credit cards”

David Armstrong– Community Manager-  National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

“I’ve always wanted to be a part of the Jelly of the Month Club.”

Roger Sararas– Writer- A Charlie Brown Christmas

“It is a tradition for me to watch this every holiday season, once on TV once on DVD. Charlie Brown is sick of all of the materialistic things about Christmas. He teaches everyone a valuable lesson that is even more true today.”

Bill Vassar– Writer – A Christmas Story

“A Christmas Story has stuck with me over the years, and I think it sticks with other modern fans as well. It is because we were all just like Ralphie when we were younger. We all had a Christmas present we wanted but could never have (In my case, instead of a Red Ryder BB Gun, it was a flamethrower), and we all had an anticipation for Christmas that just isn’t the same once you reach adulthood. It accurately and hilariously captures both the joy and torment of Christmas time as a child, and that’s what makes it my all time favorite holiday movie.”

There you have it. This is a list of a few of 3Gem Staff’s favorite Christmas classics and specials. If you have not yet had the chance to take a look at these, it will be worth your while.
